One family. One standard.
In the spring of 2020 we lost everything, loaded three kids into a 26-foot U-Haul, and drove home to Watertown, New York. I was a Navy electrician, not a salesperson. I took a commission-only door-to-door solar job because rent was due.
What I found on those doors: homeowners deserve to be served, not sold, and reps deserve a place that actually gives a damn whether they succeed. I couldn't find that culture, so I built it. Wood Consulting is a solar and water company in Brownville, NY, and the back office behind every rep who sells with us.

All three jobs.
I have done the doors, run the teams, and sold virtually. It started as a need for a job and turned into a way to actually help a homeowner.

Thirteen reps, one market.
A remote organization run out of Watertown, thirteen reps spread across the country selling into California, none of us in the same state. We became the top non-installing SunPower dealer in the Santa Rosa market.

Then the floor came out.
California's math changed in April 2023. SunPower filed Chapter 11 that August and its dealer network was sold. We were left holding $2.1 million that was never paid.

Someone who sold an honest deal in 2022 watched the company behind it fail, and it was the rep the homeowner called, not the installer. That is where the doubt came from.
So this one came out of need, and out of knowing both jobs: what a rep needs standing at a door, and what a rep needs selling from a screen three states away.
